Milwaukee Urban Garden Intiative Passed in Public Works Committee!

Hi everyone!

The Milwaukee Common Council  Public Works committee just passed the resolution for the Urban Garden Initiative with Milwaukee Urban Gardens, unanimously.  On March 25th it should go through the whole Common Council and that means: Off the Grid will be subleasing from Milwaukee Urban Gardens a 12000+ sq ft lot on the corner of Richards and Clarke.

The Milwaukee Urban Garden ladies, Jacki and Erin worked super hard on this and I am so proud of them. Alderman Kovac and Alderman Hamilton were the sponsors for this resolution, and it passed with flying colors.
You can watch it here.  It is Item #7
If you have a second to call or email them to say thanks please do.

This is a pilot program that is giving at least 5 Three year leases to community groups throughout the city. MUG’s goal is to raise the number of gardens every year using theses starter gardens as examples.

Save the Date of April 11th for a Gourmet Bake sale fundraiser , details and flyer soon, and stay tuned for a wish list and a list of volunteer workdays!
